Why do the lights flicker?

Why would the headlights and dome light flicker while driving or sitting idling?

There is one or more of those usual loose connections. This is almost normal in an older car.

Identify some connections that serve both the headlights and the dome light. Then isolate the one connection that is loose and causing this problem.

You can try loosening some connections about a half to one full turn and then tightening them. This may scrape away the corrosion.
