Whose responsibility is it to pay?
I bought a new car in Florida but I am a resident of Ohio.

My contract has 5% sales tax listed. Ohio is 7% and will not give me a registration without payment of the difference.

Is this my responsibility or the dealership's?

Ask the relevant government offices in both Florida and Ohio.

The entity -- either the buyer or the seller -- has the ultimate responsibility and will be identified in the statutes.
